The
MASCSA is all about helping student-athletes get
the most from their college experience: academically,
athletically, and socially. Earning a degree from
Penn State is a truly meaningful accomplishment,
and my job is to be one of your resources while
pursuing this most worthwhile goal. When I'm not
working with student-athletes, I enjoy step aerobics,
kick boxing, loud music, reading, and iced lattes
with whipped cream. When you stop in my office,
be sure to ask me about my four grandkids.

Working for Success > First-Year
Enrichment

The First-Year Enrichment Program focuses on the special needs of
first-year student-athletes by providing a comprehensive program
which helps to make the transition from high school to college a
successful one. The three goals of the First-Year Enrichment Program
are to help first-year students become efficient and successful,
to help them assume responsibility for their academic success, and
to aid them in coping with the new and rigorous demands of college
life. These goals are accomplished through academic pre-assessment,
two courses designed to develop skills for coping with the transition
to college, and mandatory study enrichment sessions.
For
additional information about the First-Year Program, contact Sandy
Meyer at 865-0407 or skm2@psu.edu.
