HANDBOOK (2005-2006)

WHAT IS SAAB?
The Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB) consists of one voting member and one or more alternates from each of Penn State's 29 varsity athletic teams. SAAB meets monthly to discuss any new developments within the NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and the University that affect the student-athletes at Penn State. The board also serves as a liaison between Intercollegiate Athletics Administrators, the Morgan Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes (MASCSA), and the student-athletes, participates in community outreach programs, and facilitates communication regarding rule changes, deadlines, and programs.

WHEN DO THEY MEET?

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
You can first get involved by coming to the SAAB meetings at the beginning of each month. While there, sign up for events that you and/or your team would like to be involved in. Check the calendar on the web page (www.gopsusports.com then click on SAAB on the left side of the page) for events that may fall between the meeting dates. It is up to you to get involved, no one is going to push you…did we mention that it looks great on a resume.
